Free Rice!

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

No, no… BGC isn’t giving away free rice. But you can give food to the hungry– you guessed it- for free!

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the plethora of free, philanthroically gratifying games and “One-Click”  websites the internet now has to offer, get with the times! There are tons of ways to quickly donate to any variety of charities and non-profits through fun and sometimes informative games on the web, like one of my personal favorites, FreeRice.com

Free Rice is a quiz game that started as a simple vocabulary test, but quickly expanded so that each player can choose his or her topic, from French language to Art History or World Geography! What’s great is that the level of difficults adust to each player’s skill level based on how well they score on each question, which at first varies between easy, medium and hard to test the waters. From there on out it’s tailored to fit your smarts.

Best of all, for each question answered correctly, FreeRice.com donates 10 grains of rice to the U.N. World Food Program. Within just 10 minutes of gameplay you can easily generate over 500 grains of rice and, believe me, those little grains add up fast. So far, Free Rice has donated over 65 billion grains of rice!

So next time you’ve got a little time to kill at home, on the go, or, let’s face it, when you’re hitting that mid-afternoon wave of lethargy at work, log on to http://www.FreeRice.com and expand your noggin while helping those in need.

Hey, look at you go, you’re savin’ the world one word at a time.
