There are two kinds of items that can be sold or swapped on BGC: one is a new item that is produced according to organic, recycled or fair-trade standards. The second kind of item is a pre-used item being sold or bartered in ordered to re-use, reduce and recycle, because we feel that it is essentially Green to reduce our wastefulness by not prematurely disposing of a non-recyleable item. We recommend that any item listed meet at least two of the criteria listed in our glossary, a veritable Eco-Dictionary we compiled to educate the green buyer and the green community and to ensure that the items on the site comply with Green standards.

Here at Big Green Cart, we believe that our actions, no matter what their size, have a positive or negative effect on our communities and our world.
